International Women's Day on March 8 was a moment to both celebrate and reflect.

We proudly acknowledge the achievements of the incredible women in our portfolio and at Speedinvest, including General Partner Marie-Helene Ametsreiter and Partner Deepali Nangia, who were deservedly named among Europe's leading women in VC by EU Startups. Their leadership is invaluable.

However, celebrating success cannot mask the persistent imbalances in our industry. As our CEO & Managing Partner, Oliver Holle, articulated in his recent open letter, we must actively defend and advance diversity and inclusion. Diverse teams build stronger companies and more innovative cultures; making the current reality, where just 1 in 10 euros in European VC goes to female founders, unacceptable.

As Deepali reminded us in a recent video for the European Investment Bank, gender equality is not a special interest; it's fundamental.

Building a truly diverse and inclusive tech ecosystem is a long-term journey, and Speedinvest is committed to staying the course. We hope you'll join us.

Iron aquired by Moonpay, courtesy CNBC

Berlin-based API first stablecoin startup Iron has been acquired by crypto payments giant MoonPay, as it looks to expand into the enterprise market. Congrats to Max von Wallenberg, ‎Omid Aladini, and the entire team on the deal.

  • French crypto trading startup Flowdesk has raised $102 million in new funding from Blackrock and HV Capital. The market maker works with token issuers and exchanges to ensure that buy and sell orders for every coin are fulfilled. Fortune has more.
