Funding Europe’s Future
Europe has no shortage of talent, savings, or ambition. But when it comes to turning breakthrough innovation into global scale, the capital still falls short.
Without long-term capital backing long-term innovation, Europe can’t truly scale. When companies reach the breakout stage, the decisive growth round too often comes from abroad, taking value, control, and future returns with it. Europe builds the innovation, but too often someone else captures the upside.
In our latest Build in Europe piece, we examine why institutional capital remains under-allocated to venture, why Europe’s IPO markets struggle to recycle returns, and how public capital can move from co-investor to strategic anchor. From pension reform and Solvency II to capital markets integration and deep tech funding, the question is simple: if Europe wants to scale its companies, can it scale its capital?
